Completion of two transport projects at Herat Province

Two projects of transport completed with worth of $153,688 USD in Ghuzara District, Herat Province.

National Area-Based Development Program (NABDP-MRRD) has successfully completed the rehabilitation of 7 Kilo meters Tertiary Road with worth of $90,485 USD, also with worth of $63,203 USD 10 Meter Bridge is constructed in same transport sector. From the mentioned two projects 9,674 community people are benefited and have created 6,000 labor days. These projects are funded by Support Agriculture and Rural Development (SARD),a program support by government of Italy.
In the inauguration ceremony of projects, Kazi Nazir Ahmad “Hanifi” Parliament member, Director of Herat Provincial Rehabilitation and Development Directorate (PRRD), Regional Manager of NABDP-MRRD, District Chief of Ghuzara district, DDA members and tribal leaders participated and has talked on the importance of the projects.
At the ceremony, Kazi Hanifi Parliament member said that;“the only reasons of successfully completion of these projects are the participation of the local people. The rehabilitation of 7 kilo meter tertiary road and construction of 10 meter bridge are very fundamental projects in Ghuzara district and people are responsible for taking care of these two projects”.
It has to be mention that in this year NABDP-MRRD implemented many social beneficial projects in different villages and districts of Herat province by which thousands of families are benefited in rural areas. Such developmental and infrastructural projects removed distance between people and government and created the hope of bright future for rural Afghanistan.    
It has to be mention that, till now NABDP completed  3164 number of projects with worth of $161,937,513 USD which totally created 5,180,953 labor days with 18,952,647 beneficiaries and with worth of $45,537,471 USD , 443 number of projects are going on which will create  1,459,959 labor days and 4,178,690 people will be benefited.
National Area Based Development Program (NABDP) commenced as a joint initiative of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 2002, with the goal of contributing to a sustainable reduction of poverty and an improvement of livelihoods in rural Afghanistan. With the support of the international community, MRRD is working to rebuild rural Afghanistan through national Programmes, such as NABDP.
