Road construction is the sign of promotion

Six kilo meter Tertiary Road gravels in Bahari Sufla, the surrounding

village of the head quarter of Ghor province by NABDP.

Kabul: - National Area-Based Development Programme (NABDP) in its development contribution to the rural community, concentrated to a faraway poor province of Afghanistan covered by mountains, which need more concentration on development and infrastructure projects. This is why NABDP gravels Tertiary Road with allocated budget of 158,304 USD in Ghor Province, which project creates 4,559 labor days and has 17,097 beneficiaries.

The project is funded by the people of Japan through NABDP to reduce poverty and provide sustainable livelihood in Ghor province, which residents are suffering from low economy. Many roads are destroyed, people have many problems with damage roads in their districts and villages because of heavy snow and rain fall in winter season, so that they do not have access to bazaar and head quarter of the province (ChikhChiran).

MHP is the sign of bright future

 18, January 2012 Kabul, Afghanistan

Three Micro Hydro Power (MHPs) plants completed and lighten three villages of Logar province in a freezing winter of 2012.

Now, Bad Shah, Baba Jan Khan and Dara Surkhab villagers of Mohammad Agha district have access to free power of micro hydro power plants. In total, these plants produce 31 kilo watts power which is a big development in rural area of Afghanistan. These three projects were funded by European Union through National Area-Based Development Programme (NABDP) with total budget of 114,371 USD which created 3,347 labor days and have benefited 2,555 People.

Two of the mentioned projects in Bad Shah and Darasurkhab villages are producing20 kilo watts electricity, and Baba Jan Khan village plant is producing 11 kilo watts electricity at one time. All of these projects are completed at the beginning of 2012 which is the first achievement of NABDP in the province at 2012.

Two new projects handed over in Kandahar province

National Area Based Development Program (NABDP) constructed two projects of water

reservoir and Gabion wall with the total cost of 39,258.00 USD in Kandahar province

Kabul:- NABDP constructed 239 meter gabion wall with the worth of 16,581 USD in Nagahan village of Arghandab district, in Nagahan village people were facing many problems, as floods in winter season were destroying villagers agricultural lands and houses, each year the flood were causing many economical harms and the villagers have tried to solve these problems but due to economical problems and technical issues they were unable to protect their agricultural land from the floods, which is the main source of their income, but now as NABDP is one of main programme of MRRD and aim at the poverty reduction and rural development, has solved the problems of the villagers. The completion of this project created 531labor days and 1,990 people are benefited.

NABDP In 2011

1st, January 2012 Kabul, Afghanistan

The National Area-Based Development Program has implemented and completed 478 developmental and infrastructural

projects with the total budget of $24,658,447 USD across the country.

In 2011, National Area Based Development Program (NABDP) has focuses on developmental and infrastructural sectors and still 876 projects with worth of $64,672,504 USD are going on. In general, these completed projects created 778,684 labor days and 2,772,993 people have benefited and also the ongoing projects which create 2,074,732 labor days and benefit 6,657,695.

In Addition, by the implementation of these projects many economical, cultural, social, transportation and educational changes came in rural people living environment, thousands of unemployed youth and rural people found job opportunity, thousands of rural people received health facilities and thousands of rural children got access to schools.

Enhancing electricity facilities in Ghor province

9 MHPs projects will lighten different villages in Ghor

Kabul:- National Area-Based Development Programme (NABPD) have started the construction of  9 Micro Hydro Power Plants (MHP) Projects at different villages of Ghor province by which hundreds of families will have access to free electricity. The Projects cost $ 588,355 USD which is funded by People of Japan and these projects will benefit 8,085 villagers and will create 18,829 labor days.

Ghor is the province which is strongly faced with deficiency of power and a large number of people are suffering from the high rate of fuel goods (fuel, gas and woods). And as in winter season all the transportation ways are blocked due to heavy snowfalls and the villagers are suffering a lot from cold weather.

A resident of Dawlathyar district of Ghor province, Mr. Haji Jan Mohammad  said, “ we are very happy that NABDP is implementing these projects in our district, it was so difficult for us to buy fuel or gas for lightening purpose because the rate of fuel goods are very high and a lot of the people are unable to purchase it,

Digging of 40 shallow wells in Logar province

Kabul:-National Area Based Development Programme (NABDP) constructed 40 shallow wells for thousands of villagers in Logar province. In these projects NABDP allocated 62,811 USD for Water Supply & Sanitation sector projects which are funded by the people of Japan, which created 1,809 labor days and benefited 6,784 residents.

In Logar Province, most residents live in mud houses and suffer from lack of access to clean drinking water. Residents typically collect water from river, unprotected springs and water of rain collected in some specific areas far away from their houses.

Prior to the construction of these shallow well, residents of the villages were facing lots of problems, as the male members were busy in agricultural activities and were facing lack of water for their agricultural productions and female members were daily crossing a large distance for collecting water which was unsafe and unhealthily water and was causing various diseases to their children and other family members. Even many of their children and family members died from the diseases occurred because of that unhealthy water drinking.

Lights in Ghor Province

26 October, 2011 Kabul, Afghanistan

National Area Based Development Program (NABDP) is going to implement 4 Micro Hydro Power (MHP) Plants projects with the worth of $312,216 USD allocated budget in Ghor province. From these projects, three are with worth of $234,190 USD will be implementing in Chighchiran Center and one project with worth of $78,027 USD will be implementing in Dawlatyar district of Ghor provinces a whole 37,466 people will get access to electricity. These projects will totally create 9,991 labour days.

The projects are funded by the people and government of Japan, aimed poverty reduction in villages and rural areas.  NABDP is implementing this kind of projects to increase the economy level of villagers. Currently, 30% percent of Afghanistan people have the access to the electricity and lightening their houses and the rest are lightening their houses by using lantern. Ghor is one of the provinces which are suffering from the deficiency of power and people of this province say, that “we haven’t seen power in our city yet, and still use lantern for lighting their houses”. But now people are happy that electricity will come to their houses and they will have free power, which enable them to use new and modern technologies by which they will be aware of all the new changes and news across the country.

Cleaning of Drainage avoid the danger of disease

Helmand:- National Area Based Development Programme (NABDP), cleaned 14,620 meters of drainage with worth of $ 52,614 USD in lashkargha center of Helmand province. The project created 1,684 labour days which caused decreasing unemployment in the city and 6,314 residents of Lashkargha center of the province have benefited from the project.

By the developmental approaches of NABDP at Helmand province, residents of Lashkargha were so much happy and were appreciating NABDP activities in such unsecure condition where other organization were unable to come and solve the problems of the villagers, but NABDP have concentrated to this problems and hired many people for cleaning this drainage which helped in betterment of living condition of both the households and workers.
